My thoughts on this topic:

I’m not going to start with saying “We live in a world where…”. No. We accept a world where judgments are made in an instant without any regard to logic or practicality.

And according to me, that is not okay. You have an opinion? That’s all right, it's completely different from a judgement. I think that the problem arises when you enforce your opinions on someone and try to change theirs. I believe that everyone is entitled to their own opinion and everyone is aware of that. Judgments on the other hand are the ability to make decisions or come to conclusions. Judgments are usually regarded to be sensible but that word has lost all its meaning right about when people started claiming their opinion was right and was in fact a judgement.

Most people make blatant claims about a certain individual/community/object etc. people judge people based on a mere act when they do not really know that person, these claims can turn against a person and have a negative impact. Judgments cannot be made without all facts.

A person you might have judged for the way they behaved on a particular day might have been going through a rough patch in their life. A person you claimed to be shy and uninteractive could have had a tough past. You do not know everyone’s stories.

All around us we see judgments being made every hour of our lives. There is no denying it. But judgments without facts, without truths, without regard to anyone’s emotions or feelings are wrong. That is something that I feel needs to be corrected. The world has several imperfections and this is the root cause to many.

By making false claims you might be affecting someone’s life. And not necessarily in a positive way. It’s way past the deadline to move on from the racism, sexism, any sort of discrimination and stereotypes.

In conclusion I would say that it is okay to have an opinion, but when you start to notice your opinion is impacting others, take a hint. It’s not an opinion anymore. You might not know what people go through, or what they have been through so you cannot judge anyone or anything based on what you think you know. You cannot review a book without completely reading and understanding it.
