She couldn’t take it anymore. She was fed up of it all. She wanted to yell her lungs out to anybody who would listen. She felt everything getting heavier every day. All her burdens, heavier than her, pushed her down.
Everything was worsening with every passing minute. And soon she couldn’t even manage to keep a smile on. She did everything with a heavy heart.
“Why are you so grumpy? I had three hours of sleep and I’m still smiling. Cheer up!”
She looked straight into his eyes and walked away without saying a word.
She walked into the washroom to freshen up. She splashed water on her face and looked into the mirror. She looked at the dark circles and bags under her eyes due to the lack of sleep because everything that happened last night and in the last few days.
She sighed and walked out.
Nothing could make her think straight at that moment. She walked out of the building carrying her files and handbag with her.
The sky was a gradient of light violet, turquoise and gold and the sun was just setting, hiding behind the fluffy white clouds that seemed to float peacefully.
On the contrary, she had enough of everyone and everything. She walked slowly, step by step, towards the flowing river.
She heard the roaring of the fierce water (much similar to what she was feeling on the inside) and the lapping of water on the hard, grayish-brown rocks.
She took off her flats and dipped her toes in the flowing, cool water.
A chill rushed through her spine.
She thought about everything that happened in the last couple of days.
All she wanted to do was let it all out.
She screamed as loud as she could, finding the nature a percipient and calm listener.
She let out all her anger, despair and misery. And a huge weight was lifted off.
“It will be alright.” She heard from behind her.
